Security

The security features for the myGenie Assistant provide flexible access controls to safeguard interactions on the platform. You can tailor the security level to fit your needs, from open access to stringent restrictions. Here is an overview of the security options available:

myGenie Assistant Access Control

Adjust the access permissions for your Genie Assistant by selecting one of the following security configurations:

Open Access for All

  • Anyone with the unique Genie URL can freely access and interact with the Assistant. This option is suitable for environments where open collaboration is desired.

Restricted Access

  • Password Protected:

    • Set a password to restrict access to your Assistant. Users must enter this password to interact with the Assistant. For enhanced security, the password is encrypted, meaning it cannot be viewed once set. To change the password, you will need to update it.
    • Enable the toggle to set a password.

  • IP Whitelist:

    • Specify IP addresses that are authorised to interact with the Assistant exclusively. Enter multiple IP addresses separated by pressing 'Enter'.

  • URL Whitelist:

    • Designate specific domains authorised to interact with the Assistant, particularly if it's embedded as an iframe or widget. Ensure all intended domains are included to enable the chat function correctly.
    • Enter multiple URLs by pressing 'Enter' to separate them.

  • Embed Restriction:

    • Activate this if you want the Assistant accessible only as an embedded URL (via iframe or widget). This ensures that the Assistant is not accessible directly via the URL, further securing its usage.

Note: When a URL whitelist is added, the embedded URL toggle will automatically be enabled.

These security settings allow you to layer protection based on the confidentiality and interaction scope required, thus safeguarding your Assistant from unauthorized access and ensuring only trusted users can connect. Implement these controls to maintain the privacy and integrity of interactions with your myGenie Assistant.
