Search Strategies¶

The Assistant provides different ways to query your information depending on the depth and scope required. While Efficient Search is the default for everyday queries, you can now select from three specialised strategies to refine how the AI retrieves information.

By choosing the right strategy, you ensure the AI focuses its "attention" exactly where it’s needed – whether that is across your entire company ecosystem, a single document, or the live web.

🎯 Deep Search¶

Deep Search allows you to dive further into your organisational data by leveraging the structured metadata within your Workspace.

• How it works:
  It automatically narrows the scope by filtering for specific tags, relationships and properties linked to your query.

• Best used for:
  Finding specific results in narrow searches or queries that require heavy context and an understanding of node relationships.

• Example:
  "Find the specific clauses related to liability in all contracts tagged with 'Active Projects' from 2024".

🌐 Web Search¶

With Web Search you can expand the boundaries of your knowledge base by bringing in real-time information from the outside world (from the internet).

• How it works:
  This strategy allows the Assistant to search the web via Google or limit the search to specific domains you define.

• Best used for:
  Checking recent news updates, exploring market trends, or discovering general information not yet stored in your Workspace.

• Example:
  "What are the latest changes to UK employment law as of this month?"

📄 Full Document Search¶

When you need to exhaustively analyse one particular piece of content, use Full Document Search to eliminate outside noise.

• How it works:
  This strategy narrows the Assistant's scope to focus exclusively on finding the most detailed information within a single, selected file.

• Best used for:
  Generating complex summaries, performing deep document analysis and focusing on granular details within a long report or manual.

• Example:
  "Summarise the technical specifications mentioned in this manual and list all safety requirements".
